"AI just memorizes and regurgitates"
OK BUDDY THEN EXPLAIN TO ME HOW IT CAN PREDICT THE *LITERAL FUTURE* BETTER THAN HUMANS
If AIs can PREDICT the future better than us, they will CONTROL the future.
Why? An analogy:
Better chess players see more moves ahead, and the more moves ahead they see, the more they win.
In other words, they predict the future better, which is how they outsmart their opponent.
Right now, AI is only slightly superhuman at forecasting. So it has limited ability to control the future.
But soon, they will see FAR more moves ahead than us.
They will outnumber us 10000 to 1.
They will think 10000x faster than us.
And like a grandmaster playing a novice, it may be easy for them to take over.
