Nvidia and AMD are increasingly competing with their balance sheets too. Offering credit guarantees that help customers secure financing and get new data centers built.
The Information wrote - "Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices have sometimes gotten in a bidding war over which one of them will provide credit guarantees to the customer of a particular data center,"
A data center can have land, power, GPUs and a willing tenant, yet still struggle to get financed if the landlord or lender does not believe that tenant can reliably cover a huge lease for 15 years.
Nvidia and AMD are now stepping into that gap by effectively lending their own balance sheets to the customer.
