Bain & Co published a solid research, and it now puts AI's required annual revenue at $6T by 2031, triple last year's bar.

It gets there by projecting $1.5T in yearly AI infrastructure spending by 2031, then assuming capex equals about 25% of industry revenue.

"Together, the consumer and enterprise AI market could total between $1.2 trillion and $1.8 trillion, leaving about $4.2 trillion of new revenue to reach the $6 trillion market that we estimate will be necessary to fund the buildout.

That revenue must come from new sources of economic value."

The report also says funding the buildout sustainably would require "adding approximately 1% to the annual global GDP growth rate."
