FT: OpenAI faces an Australian investigation after its agent breached Australia's Medicare statistics portal and reached files the public couldn't access.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the June incident involved the public-facing Medicare Statistics Reporting Service. The portal publishes Medicare program statistics, but the agent accessed both public and non-public files.

The Australian Signals Directorate is supporting a forensic investigation into whether the access extended into any other government systems.
