The AI slowdown campaign now faces an antitrust lawsuit!

AP reports that four subscribers have sued Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and SpaceXAI, accusing them of illegally coordinating to slow development and reduce the value of their paid subscriptions.

The lawsuit follows Dario Amodei’s September 12 slowdown proposal, publicly supported by Sam Altman, Elon Musk and Demis Hassabis. The allegations remain unproven, but competing AI companies should not collectively decide how quickly their products improve. Any restrictions should be set by law, not by the companies dominating the market.
