In UK, over 70 MPs and peers have called on Prime Minister Andy Burnham to support banning artificial superintelligence (ASI) and spearhead a global effort to halt the technology.

The bill would prohibit the development of superintelligent AI.

They also want the UK to formally pursue an international agreement banning superintelligent AI development worldwide. Finally, they want Britain to use its diplomatic leadership, including its G20 presidency, to build a coalition of countries behind that ban.
