Sam Altman talks about exponential 3-year jump of AI in math, from grade-school math to a Millennium Prize problem

in his Fortune Magazine interview with Editor-in-Chief Alyson Shontell:

"3 summers ago, we were like, not even that good on grade school math. 2 summers ago, we could on the AIME, which is like a pretty good high school math competition. We could get a good to a very good score.

1 summer ago, we got an IMO gold medal, which is like the most prestigious math competition, barely.

And this summer, we solved the Millennium Prize problem.

And you project that forward 4 more times, and that is what I think people are worried about."
